Kwanzaa Box is Here!

Life got in the way this year of preparing the annual Kwanzaa Box kit.  Because of this, I am only able to produce a limited number of boxes and have them ready to ship in time for Kwanzaa next month. So get yours before they sell out.

Disclaimer

I have always tried to keep cost of the Kwanzaa Box at a reasonable price point while providing a fun experience with the box contents and the amount of fibery goodness that’s included.  This year, however, the cost of putting this box together has increased due to the tariff situation that is affecting the entire fiber industry and particularly the mills where we indie dyers purchase our yarn and fibers.  As a result, the cost of putting this box together has risen, not only because of tariffs, but also inflation and shipping costs.  I am not passing all those costs on to you, my friends, but I do have to raise my price for this box a bit.  As you will see below, I also want to help out a friend and I’m hoping you will want to help, too.

Kwanzaa Box Contents

It is the season of giving and the season of community.  This year’s Kwanzaa Box will reflect the principles of the season and of Kwanzaa in a concrete way.  The box is going back to its roots, but with a twist.  The box will contain the following items.

• At least 7 full skeins of yarn, one for each day of Kwanzaa.
• You choose whether it is Fingering or DK, but both choices will contain the same fiber content.  This year, the yarn content will be luxury fibers with no nylon.
• You will also receive some fun and interesting notions.
  • a crochet or knitting pattern (you choose one or the other or both), as well as some additional pattern suggestions.
  • a few other holiday/yarny surprises, including a bag for notions and other “stuff”. This box will be heavy on the fun!

By the way, this year, the yarn in the box can be used as a gradient making a sweater, or a shawl, or included in other items of your choosing. The box will contain tonal, variegated, and/or speckled yarn.  The palette contains maybe purples, blues, pinks and golds.  That is the only hint I’m giving!

Kwanzaa – Spirit of Giving

One of the members of our community, Chanelle Nesmith,  has been battling breast cancer.  She had just started a new job when she got her diagnosis.  If you have been following her on Instagram you know that she has fought cancer with a vengeance.  Channy is the creative behind https://channypeascorner.com/ .  Channy has created some of the cutest, most fun stickers and pins for the fiber enthusiast.  Her pins can be found at yarn stores all around the country and can be purchased online.  It has been a hard slog producing and selling her products while battling cancer. Take a look at her site and see all the cool things she has and lets support her by using our buying power.

To help her out, I am doing something a little special here.  For the first 25 boxes purchased of the Kwanzaa Box this year, I will add in a Mystery Bag containing a sock kit.  These bags are pre-made and will ship out immediately.
